My Encouters
My Favorite Dream Street event, was December 10th. The event was called the Jingle Mingle and was thrown by a radio station called 92PROFM. It was located in Providence Rhode Island, 6 hours away from my home in New Jersey.
But the concert was DEFINATELY worth the ride! To make a long story short, I went backstage and hung out with Chris. He was the only one left...(lucky for me). Jesse, Greg,Matt, and Frankie left after the performance. I had a wonderful time and you will be able to see the pictures from backstage soon...on the 'Me and DS' page!
More Of My Encounters Coming Soon!
Mandie's Encounters...
On June 6th, me and my dad went to the South Shore Mall to see Dream Street. My friend Christine was going to come with me but at the last minute she couldn't go. I felt bad that she couldn't go and I could since she was the one who got me "hooked on" Dream Street (sorry, I couldn't resist!) so I printed out a picture of Chris (her favorite) and I brought it with me. I, of course, bought the cd the day that it came out. The only problem was to get into the signing (which was the day after the cd was released) you had to have a reciept, which I didn't have.
The nice girl at FYE brought me up to the counter and took my opened cd that I had listened to all night, and rang it up as a return. Not only did I get into the signing but I got a brand new cd, even though mine was only a day old :-). I think my dad and I waited about an hour and a half for the line to move until finally I was next. As we waited for the girl in front of me to take her picture with Jesse, who was the first at the table, and she got her cd signed. As we waited my dad and I started to talk to the body guard that was standing next to jesse. He was really nice. When the girl was done and moved over the guard said, "Jesse, get up and take a picture with this nice girl." Jesse smiled and stood up. We moved close and Jesse put his hand on my back. We took the picture and he signed my poster from the cd case.
Next was the one and only, yours truly, Chris! We was looking especially sexified that day :-) (What?! I'm not going to lie!) I asked him to sign my poster and I took a picture with him. He put the picture for Christine on his lap and finished signing my poster. He smelled so good :-). After we took a picture I asked him to sign the picture for Christine. I remember he asked me "With a K or Ch?" So I told him "Ch" and he smiled. After that I moved over to Greg. He smiled at me and signed my poster. Then my dad took a picture of me and Greg. After the picture I said bye to Greg and this girl behind me pushed me out of the way! How rude! She made me drop my poster and the picture for Christine. Frankie looked over the table as I picked it up and asked, "Are you ok?" I was like "Yeah, thanks. Some people are just rude." And Frankie laughed. He signed my poster and the girl behind me was already pushing her way infront of me and giving her poster to Frankie. He just kinda shrugged to say sorry and I smiled. It was ok. I handed my poster the Matt and he signed it and I took my picture with him but the picture didn't come out :-(. It was so much fun though. They were all so hott and SOOOO super sweet. If you haven't met them yet, you better try to soon!
# 2
On December 5th, I went to WBLI's Winter Jam concert and I took 54 pictures, nost of them were of Dream Street. When I got them back from one hour photo the next day not ONE PICTURE CAME OUT! I was so bummed. I was pissod off so I went in my room and listened to WBLI. I heard that Dream Street was in the studio, well, just Greg and Frankie, but that was good enough. I opened my bed room door to see if my dad was listening to hear DS and he was standing right there at my door. He scared the crap out of me. He said "Why don't we go to the studio and see who's there" So we got in the car and drove about 5 minutes to the studio. There were about 15 girls outside the stduio. I expected alot more. About 15 minutes after I got there Bobby Fester, one of the DJ's came out and he brought out Dream Street. He brought them out a few times, about every 10-15 minutes. I was so happy, I would get pictures to make up for my Winter Jam pictures sucking so bad.
I kinda got pushed to the back so my dad was joking with Bobby Fester, who we talk to pretty often. My dad was like "is there some sort of line?" because everytime the guys came out the smae girls took pictures with Greg and Frankie. Bobby Fester looked at my dad and called out "Frankie, come here for a second." and Frankie started to walk over but the girls were in the way. Bobby Fester called out "Girls!" and EVERY SINGLE girl turned around. As you can see, Bobby's a big man. If you saw a big, fat, bald man and he looked pissed and motioned for you to split down the middle and let Frankie get through all of the girls, you'd move pretty fast too! So the girls moved over and frankie came over and Bobby told him that I didn't get a picture so Frankie and Bobby got next to me and my dad took the picture. then Frankie took a picture with just me. They had to go back in but a few minutes later they came out again. I went up to Greg and started to talk to him and he asked if I wanted a picture, so of course I said yes! He was on one side of a hand rail and I was on the other. He tried to walk around to get close for the picture but there were like 10 girls at the end of the railing and he wouldn't have been able to fit through so we just leaned closer. I went to grab the railing behind me so I could lean over it for the picture and I accidentaly brushed my hand on Greg's butt!!!!!
I was so embaressed but he didn't see to notice so I didn't make a scene. I took the picture and then he had to go back in. They came out a last time to say goodbye and he came right over to me and hugged me and I asked to take a picture of both him and Frankie. He said "Sure of course" and leaned over next to me and my dad took the picture, and he kissed my cheek after the picture, then he said "let me go get Frankie" and he called Frankie over and me him and Frankie took a picture and frankie hugged me. Then they had to go in and get their stuff and they left but I had such a good time!
Laurens Encounter...
The first time I met Dream Street was November 3, 2001. I begged my father to let me and my Best Friend, Kristen go, and of course he said yes. My father drove 4 hours to Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, just for us. We left my house at 8:30 and arrived at the Wyoming Valley Mall at 12:30. We walked through the mall for a little bit, then after asking someone for direction, we found the record store. We waited on line for a half hour waiting for the concert to start at 2:00. We were allowed to stand by the stage at 1:30 to wait for the show to start. We waited patiently while these guys from the radio station were throwing t-shirts in the audience. Finally one man ran on stage and introduced 3rd Faze. They ran on stage and talked to the audience for a couple of minutes, then introduced their first song. They were really great. They did about 5 songs. Then they were helped off stage and the same radio guy as before came on stage and introduced... DREAM STREET! Everyone was taking pictures and screaming. Of course I couldn't see anything because some lady had to just stand in my way. lol.. They came on stage just as the music to "Let's Get Funky Tonite" started. They danced unbelievibly great to it. After the song ended, the guys said that Jesse couldn't make it because he was home sick with the flu, but he wanted to tell us that he loved us all and wished he could be here. The audience all awed (including me!). Greg then introduced the next song, of course, "Sugar Rush". While they were singing the microphones weren't really working. They finally shut off all together. They boys appologized for the sound and started "Sugar Rugh" once again. In the middle of their preformance (they were taking a breake) they sang "Happy Birthday" to some guy that worked with them (sorry, I don't remember who they sang to, lol). After "Happy Birthday", Frankie started singing "How Old Are You Now", the rest of the guys caught on, it was really cute. They finished the rest of their preformance. They were so GREAT! (Oh by the way, during about half of the show, that lady and her 4 kids left, so I scrambled to the front on the right side. lol)
It was time for the Meet 'n' Greet. I stood on line for 4 hours. I made new friends and did a lot of talking. It was finally me and Kristen's turn. I got my camera and CD ready. Frankie was first. Kristen got her CD signed and asked for a picture. I got my CD signed and would have asked for a picture, but Kristen walked off with my camera. So I asked for a hug. Luckily, one of the security gaurds were nice enough to get my camera for me and I snapped a picture of Frankie as I moved onto Matt. Matt didn't say very much. He just smiled. I didn't get a picture of him because I was being pushed down the line (I got one of Matt a little later, but I'll tell you about that in a short while). Chris was next. As he was signing my CD, one of the security gaurds asked me to turn around becaouse he wanted to show my t-shirt to this other security gaurd. He said "see the picture faded". Chris then looked up from what he was doing and said "Woah... what faded?". I replied "my shirt, see?" and I turned around to show him the picture. "How many times did you wash it?" he asked. I said a simple, "twice". I then explained to him that the first time I got the shirt at their Atlantic City concert, when we went out to eat afterwards, this waitress dripped coffee on his face, and when I got home I washed it. It got him upset and he said "here, I'll make it up to you", and he gave me a hug, then complimented me on the shirt and asked me if I wanted a picture. Of course I relpied, "sure". He asked a security gaurd to take it for me. It came out, oh should I say... perfect? lol. Next was Greg. I smiled and he smiled back and signed my CD. I asked him for a picture, and I asked the same securtiy gaurd to take it for me. It was kind of hard to get close enough to Greg because he was taller then Chris was. So Greg, being the nice guy that he is, helped me on the table. The man snapped the picture, I said "Thank You", and walked away. Only to relize I had forgotten Matt (how could I do such a thing? lol). So I did only what I could think of. I yelled "Matt"... he didn't hear me so I yelled louder,"MATT". He turned to me and I said "can I take your picture?". He smiled and said "sure". I hit the button on the camera taking my last memory for the day. I walked out to my Dad and Kristen, who were waiting for me outside the store. I walked away from my first Dream Street Meet 'n' Greet, knowing it is deffinatly not the last (besides, I still have to get my favorite Dream Street-er's, Jesse's, autograph! ).
